Types of IV Hydration – IV Drip and IV Push

At MyGlow Hydration, we offer the two types of IV Hydration. These types mainly differ in the amount of time and amount of fluids administered to the client’s veins.

IV Drip, also known as infusion, involves the slow and continuous administration of fluids or medications over a period of time. We use an IV bag with a regulated flow rate, hanged and elavated, typically to deliver a steady stream of fluids into the bloodstream. IV Drips or IV Infusions has an average of 250-1000 mL of fluids injected and lasts for about 30-45 minutes per session.

IV Push involves the rapid administration of medications or fluids directly into the bloodstream using a syringe. This method delivers a concentrated dose of medication or fluid in a shorter amount of time compared to an IV drip. IV Push is administered manually by a healthcare professional, who slowly pushes the syringe plunger to deliver the desired medication or fluid directly into the vein. IV Push is often used for medications that require immediate effects or when a smaller volume needs to be administered quickly.

Both types of IV Hydration can be beneficial in specific situations and may be used independently or in combination, depending on individual needs. It is important to consult with a healthcare professional to determine the most appropriate therapy for your specific requirements.
